      Uncorked with Adrian Chiles

One of Britain’s most famous television broadcasters came to The Holroyd Community Theatre as part of a tour to promote his new book ‘The Good Drinker’ in conjunction with Oswestry-based Booka Bookshop.

Adrian Chiles, who lists The One Show, Match of the Day 2 and ITV’s England internationals coverage among his credits discussed his relationship with alcohol and the unsung pleasures of drinking in moderation in a humorous and heartfelt interview conducted by Caroline Lang, former broadcaster and member of Moreton Hall.

Tim Morris, owner of Booka, described Adrian as a ‘lovely chap’ and said it was great to meet him

He added: “Adrian was really open and honest and had a great sense of humor.

But this was not the last event from the Oswestry bookshop this year.

Next week, on Wednesday, December 14, Booka will be hosting none other than Nigel Owens, one of the most famous referees in world rugby.

The event will take place at the Holroyd Theatre, where the bookshop tends to host most of their larger events.

The evening will start at 7.30pm, and it will highlight Nigel’s autobiography, where he talks about his life and career.

Unfortunately, tickets for the event are sold out.

Tim added: “We are really excited for next week, and can not wait for another great event.”

He said that they already started making the schedule to cover the first part of next year, and that they will announce that next week.
