The Holroyd Community Theatre Rescues Operatic Production Amidst RAAC Setback

The Holroyd Community Theatre is proud to announce it will be the new home of the highly anticipated production of Puccini’s masterpiece, “La Bohème,” by North Wales Opera Studio later this year.

The dedicated team at The Holroyd Community Theatre, which is based at Moreton Hall School, rallied together, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to the arts and their local community to rescue the magnificent opera performance ensuring the show can continue despite unforeseen circumstances affecting its original venue in Whitchurch, who became subjected to the RAAC setback.

stated Michael Jenkins, Creative Director of the Holroyd Community Theatre.

“We are thrilled to open our doors and stage to ‘La Bohème,’ allowing artists and audience members to experience the magic of this timeless opera. We have worked with The North Wales Opera Studio in the past, and their productions have always been fantastic.”

“La Bohème” is a poignant tale of love, friendship, and sacrifice set against the backdrop of 19th-century Paris. This production promises to captivate audiences with its stunning music, evocative storytelling, and exceptional performances from internationally acclaimed opera singers, and the home-grown Shrewsbury Symphony Orchestra.

The Holroyd Community Theatre’s state-of-the-art facilities will provide a fitting stage for this extraordinary opera, ensuring a memorable and immersive experience for all attendees.

Principal of Moreton Hall School, Michael Brewer added: “We are delighted to support The North Wales Opera Studio with their production and extend our best wishes during this challenging time for all venues across the country who are affected by RACC.”

La Bohème will take place at The Holroyd Community Theatre on December 20th – 21st. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to witness this superb opera, which is directed by professional opera singer and coach, Anne Williams-King.

Tickets are available now at www.theholroyd.com or by calling 01691 776069.
