      Forthcoming Events at The Holroyd Community Theatre

      The Holroyd Community Theatre has begun 2025 in full swing – hosting a wide range of events. From outstanding Charity Music Night with the incredible James Humphreys, to a unique underwater themed baby sensory session. Wine lovers enjoyed an evening with Master of Wine, Richard Bampfield, learning about a variety of wines whilst raising money for Charity.

      It is safe to say that there has been something for everyone this year at The Holroyd Community Theatre, located at Moreton Hall, Weston Rhyn. The state of the art theatre is renowned for hosting the ever popular BOOKA events, with the likes of much loved Sunday Times best selling author, JoJo Moyes hosting recently, to the upcoming evening with Dragon Den’s, Sara Davies.

      With two upcoming National Theatre screenings taking place at The Holroyd Community Theatre, save the journey to London but you can feel as though you are there! The first screening to take place is The Importance of Being Earnest, starring Ncuti Gatwa (Dr Who; Sex Education) and set to be a humorous twist on Oscar Wilde’s timeless classic. Steve Coogan features in Dr Strangelove, the second National Theatre Screening. Coogan plays an impressive four roles in the world premiere stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick’s comedy masterpiece.

      In March, The Holroyd Community Theatre will be transformed into a vibrant and colourful art gallery as it hosts the SATIPS Art Exhibition. Along with interactive and crafting workshops, this exhibition showcases the pinnacle of artwork from schools across the country. Later in March, Moreton Hall’s middle school play, Moana JR. takes place with the curtain coming up on the evening of March 25th and running for three evening performances, with the curtain call on Thursday 27th March.

      Moreton Hall’s annual Business Lunch, in May, hosts reputable industry shaper Sir Ian Cheshire, along with the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs and business people whilst enjoying a delicious lunch. Later in the month, prepare to be transported on a remarkable musical journey as Fleetwood Shack delivers an extraordinary performance, featuring an impressive repertoire of the biggest and most beloved Fleetwood Mac hits.

      Moreton Hall’s hosting of production Primera Cita, in June, a Spanish-language play, offers local schools a unique opportunity to experience European culture firsthand. Meanwhile, aspiring scientists and engineers can immerse themselves in discovery and innovation at Moreton Hall’s Annual STEM Challenge Day.

      Towards the end of June, Delta Academy of Performing Arts will rock the stage as they perform Andrew Lloyd Webber’s, School of Rock The Musical and Stagecoach Oswestry present Frozen JR. Mark Lord also returns with his sell out music through the decades show to raise money for Derwen College. With these exciting events, June promises to be a memorable month as pupils approach the final weeks of the Summer Term.

      Alongside all of these outstanding performances, exhibitions and workshops, The Holroyd Community Theatre is proud to host their weekly community centric groups such as the ever growing Buggy Walk Group and the weekly Performing Arts Academy, Face2Face.
