Face2Face Continues to Offer Performance Coaching Across the Region

The Academy which opened in 2017 has continued throughout the pandemic to offer performing arts classes via Zoom, and their bespoke ‘Lessons at Home’ webpage. Pupils attend the academy from all over the region, including places as far as Newtown and Chester.

Academy Manager and head coach, Michael Jenkins, said: “It is really important that we continue to offer creative classes to our pupils, especially during the current lockdown.

“Exploring creativity and developing performance skills is so important. These skills will no doubt assist our pupils throughout the pandemic and later in their lives. It has been wonderful to see our pupils enjoying catching up with their friends at the academy. It is clear that they love being part of the vibrant community.”

The Academy which is based at The Holroyd Community Theatre, Weston Rhyn, has paused tuition fees whilst the classes and workshops are online.

Michael added: “Our tuition fees are very affordable, and we offer scholarships throughout the year to support families. However, during the COVID pandemic, we felt that offering our classes and workshops for free was, and is, the right thing to do.

In the Summer Term, the Academy welcomed workshops from seasoned West End professionals including Christina Modestou, an original cast member of Six, Sasha Wareham, leading lady in 9 to 5 the musical and direct from The RSC’s Matilda, Kane Oliver Parry.

      Academy pupil Maisie said:

“Being part of Face2Face is amazing. I have loved the online sessions, especially the West End workshops. It is invaluable to receive feedback from industry professionals.

“I would recommend joining to anybody interested in pursuing a career in the arts.”

The sessions take place each Friday in term time from 6.00pm – 8.30pm. For more information, or to sign up for the academy visit the Face2Face webpage.
