Start your week with calm, creativity, and connection at The Monday Warm Up, with The Gentle Stage. A welcoming movement and drama session designed especially for young people and adults (16+) with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Led by Tara Edwards, a qualified drama teacher and Behaviour Support Coach (BILD accredited) with over 15 years’ experience, each session is designed to help participants regulate, build confidence, and develop social and communication skills through movement, relaxation, and creative drama.
The first hour focuses on gentle movement and relaxation to music, supporting posture, core strength, and wellbeing. The second hour brings everyone together for a light-hearted drama workshop, full of imaginative games that encourage teamwork, problem solving, and performing confidence all in a calm and inclusive environment.
Tara is also qualified and experienced in British Sign Language (BSL) and Makaton, ensuring that communication can be adapted for those who benefit from signed support.
Sessions take place in our scenic foyer, surrounded by natural views that set the perfect tone for a gentle and uplifting start to the week.
Please bring:
A yoga mat, a water bottle, and a willingness to relax, move, and create.
Participants should be able to independently get on and off a yoga mat, or may choose to take part from a chair.
